On the occasion of the 23rd Memorial Day of Nepalese artist Arniko, the Commercial Artists Association of Nepal announced several Award for Artists. “Shivata Talent Award ” was created in memory of Shivata Upadhyaya Grela. It is aimed at girls under age of 25 out performing in the field of photography, art, design, modeling and language The first Award in 2018 was received by Sujan Srestha who got 11, 000 Rupee and a certificate. Sujan is 21-year-old girl with interest in photography and paintings. She is a 2nd Year Student at Kathmandu University, Department of Fine Art.
Ms. Kriti Upadhayay, representative of Shivata love Foundation handed over the school fees for the three children supported by “In my dream project” to the principle Aman Gupta of BHAVISHYA NIRMAN SCHOOL, RANI MILLS AREA BIRATNAGAR NEPAL . She celebrated the 24th birthday of Shivata Grela and the first annual day of Shivata Love Foundation Nepal.
Shivata Love Foundation organized an exhibition “Time and Space”, with the works donated to SLFN by the eminent Indian Artist Prof. Jai Krishna Agrawal. It was a great success. The exhibition was opened by Her Excellency Veronica Cody, EU Ambassador to Nepal.
SLFN is very grateful to Prof. Agrawal for donating his excellent works. The sales of his art works will go to the project “In My Dreams”, which provides scholarships for girls coming from unprivileged families in Nepal.
Shivata Love Foundation organized a women empowerment session and also distributed some basic items for children like notebook, pencil, eraser, sharpener etc.
” In My Dream Project ” from SLF selected Anjali Tamang for a scholarship. She is from Dhading and has hearing problems in but she does good drawing.
The Artist/ Art teacher Koshal Hamal helped with the selection.
Rambati Kumari Chowdhary from Rautahat was also selected. She is a mother of two children. Despite of multiple challenges of her life she decided to pursue her passion for art and came to Kathmandu. It is rare to be as an artist in her community.
